NZAA Conference Papers and Poster Call Out
From 1st
March 2017 we will be welcoming proposals of papers and posters on all
aspects of New Zealand and Pacific archaeology, but encourage prospective
participants to consider offerings that focus on current or recent research in
New Zealand. We will also host a student papers session, students are invited
to present papers based on their research, either completed or ongoing.
Students are welcome to present shorter papers, of 10-15 minutes.
There
is a themed paper session dedicated to Gold Mining. Submissions for this
session are encouraged to consider: gold mining in New Zealand (or overseas),
kauri logging, general early contact-period industrial archaeology, social
aspects of goldfields life (including effects of mining on iwi), archaeology of
the Hauraki-Coromandel region.
All
papers (apart from student) must be 20 mins long, and abstracts must be between
100 – 250 words. This year all proposals for papers and posters must
include an abstract when registering interest with the Papers
Co-ordinator. The dead line for the submissions is 12th May
2017.

Callie Fleeger writes:
I have recently
moved to Wellington from Melbourne. I have lived and worked as an archaeologist
in both British Columbia, Canada and Melbourne and have over 5 years experience
in survey and excavation fieldwork, post excavation analysis and in project management.
My goal is to
become more connected in the NZ cultural heritage community via volunteer or
sub-contract work. Any offers or suggestions welcome. CV available.

Facebook: "Richard Pearse is famous (in New Zealand) because he may have achieved powered flight before the Wright brothers in 1903. He built his aeroplane at his farm in South Canterbury, but he later moved south. Between 1911 and 1912 this small cottage near Milton in South Otago was his home. It has probably not been lived in since he left."

You
will see from the style the eNews consists largely of links.
Our
preferred form is a few lines at most, with a link or an email contact for
further information.
At
a pinch we may self-host longer documents to link in the eNews, but they must be
submitted as pdf or word documents as attachments to emails. They need some processing so
there may be a delay in their being used.
If
you are running a conference we will usually run a link once only - and if you
don't have a website for it yet, then please tell us when you have.
Relevant
job advertisements are welcome - there is no charge.
